The two 18-hole championship courses, nestled in the beautiful Salzach Valley, constitute one of the largest golf courses in the Austrian Alps.
No place on Earth is comparable to the unique symbiosis of the rambling, sunny Salzach Valley and its surrounding high mountain backdrop. Ski the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier in the morning, take in a game of golf after lunch and then take a dip in the Zeller See lake – simply unparalleled! The two 18-hole courses, Schmittenhöhe and Kitzsteinhorn, are set in level park-like surroundings among small lakes and natural ponds. The ideal location and exceptionally well-kept greens promise you a great game from April through November. The Golf Club Zell am See – Kaprun hosted the 1994 OVB Ladies Open and one of the 1995 Ladies European Competition tournaments, as well as the 1992 and 1993 OVB Mens tournament. But not only international players like G. Norman, B.Langer, S. Balesteros and Mark McNutty remark on how impressed they are with the well-groomed course. Bernhard Langer has held the course record of 66 since 1993. The club restaurant, with its idyllic terrace, is famous for its culinary delights – local delicacies in a typical Austrian atmosphere.
The Golf Club Zell am See – Kaprun’s two 18-hole championship courses (SSS 72) make it the largest golf club in the Austrian Alps. Both courses provide what every player dreams of: excellent greens, challenging fairways and a variety of natural water traps and ponds.
There are four tournament weeks per year: Spring, Summer and Autumn tournaments as well as the Pinzgauer Golf Tournament played on 4 different courses at the end of September. But don’t worry…even during tournaments there is usually ample time for the non-competition player to tee off.
